NEPHROLOGY
lnlaks Hospital Nephrology set up has a state of art dialysis unit with highly qualified Nephrologists who together monitor the nephrology services round the clock.
The AKD department has 10 special Dialysis unit which works round the clock and 1 Dialysis machine kept for the exclusive use of ICU patients who are critically ill. The Hepatitis B & C patients have a separate machine for their exclusive use.
The dialysis unit runs 3 shift & emergency dialysis in ICU is done round the clock. The unit is manned by highly experienced dialysis technicians & nurses. Apart from regular dialysis, we offer SLED & Plasmapheresis as required by the critically ill patients including night dialysis.
The center is equipped to offer emergency renal care for both acute and chronic renal failure. Hospital is also equipped to do related procedures such as kidney biopsy, temporary and permanent vascular access catheterization, AV fistula constructions.
Our nephrologists, along with other supportive services, are available daily for consultation at the hospital.
Kidney Failure
- Patients with a severe degree of kidney failure cannot lead a comfortable life with medications and dietary restrictions alone. They need a treatment modality known as dialysis, a procedure to purify the blood by removing toxic substances.
- The term chronic renal failure denotes a permanent loss of kidney function. When a person has suffered an irreversible loss of more than 90% of kidney function, the patient is diagnosed as having end-stage renal disease. Patients with end-stage renal disease undergo lifelong maintenance dialysis or a kidney transplant.
- Our department provides hemodialysis, a procedure where the patient’s blood is filtered by an artificial kidney. Patients with end-stage renal disease can choose between Hemodialysis or Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) for their treatment
